Where it fits
A fan on a nine-foot ceiling leaves its chains out of reach. A 36 in extension fixes that in a minute. You snap the connector onto the stub of the old chain and let the new one hang. The black chain is stainless steel and the copper one is copper, and the maker rates both to hold over 40 pounds. Each pack of two comes with six connectors.
Check before you buy
- Your fan or lamp has a beaded pull chain, not a cord or a remote.
- You know the drop you need: measure from the old chain's end to hand height.
- The finish matches the fan's metal.

Pick another one if
The short chains are about looks as much as reach. The teardrop, walnut and icon pulls add weight, so a chain hangs straight and is easy to find in the dark. They add 12 to 13.6 in. If you need more drop, link one to a 36 in chain. These fit beaded chain only, so a fan with a cord or a remote has no use for them.

What buyers say about the Ceiling Fan Pull Chain Extensions
4.7 out of 5 from 1,400 ratings. Reviews word for word, with the critical ones left in.
Great extensions for ceiling fans
I could not reach the pull chains on our ceiling fans to change the speed. These extensions did the trick. They are of good quality and matched the existing chains. These extension chains play very well with the chains that are already there! We all have a happy--and I can change the speed with no problems.
This pull chain works well and is easy to cut to fit
What can you say about a pull chain? It is attractive, the connectors work well, and so far, it seems quite durable. I was able to quickly and easily trim it to size and replace the older brass chain. As a bonus, it was well worth the reasonable price.
Ceiling Fan Pull Chain Extensions: questions
How do I attach an extension?
Press the last bead of the old chain into one side of the connector and the first bead of the new chain into the other.
Can I shorten the chain?
Yes. Cut it between two beads with scissors or wire cutters.
Which pull is for the fan and which for the light?
The nickel pair has a fan icon on one pull and a bulb on the other, so you can tell them apart by sight.
