Where it fits
Under-cabinet pucks usually take a 20 watt G8. One bulb sits behind each small glass lens, and a row of them lights the counter. When one goes, the rest are often close behind. A box of ten lets you change them together. The 50 watt version is the one range hoods and some microwaves name for the cooktop light.

- The old bulb has two straight pins about 8 mm apart.
- The fixture is marked 120V, not 12V.
- The wattage on the fixture is 20W or 50W.

Pick another one if
The sizes are easy to mix up. A G8 has straight pins, a G9 has loops, and a G4 is smaller and runs on 12 volts. Pull the old bulb and look before you order. Never fit the 50W where the fixture says 20W. A puck light has a small closed housing, and the extra heat can scorch the cabinet above it.

Most 120V puck lights name 20W. Check the label on the fixture or the old bulb.
Can I put a 50W G8 in a 20W fixture?
No. The fixture was built for the heat of 20W, and a 50W bulb can overheat it.
How big is the bulb?
About half an inch wide and 1.57 in long, pins included.
